Venezuela Passes Delcy Rodríguez's Amnesty Law to End Bans

Delcy Rodríguez proposed a general amnesty law that the Venezuelan National Assembly initially approved to foster reconciliation following the capture of Nicolás Maduro.The legislation aims to lift political bans on opposition leaders like María Corina Machado and addresses charges of treason or terrorism dating back to 1999.While the law excludes serious human rights violations and drug trafficking, nearly 400 political prisoners have been released with more expected after a final debate.
