Italy Launches AI Tax Crackdown and Salary Breaks

Italy has launched a new automated control platform using AI to identify VAT fraud as part of a national digitalization strategy.The system, developed by the Ministry of Economy under the PNRR, targets a recovery of 5 billion euros by 2028 through real-time database monitoring.These enforcement efforts coincide with 2026 Budget Law tax breaks for workers, including Irpef reductions and incentives for overtime pay.
