One Dead and 30 Injured in Peru Train Collision Near Machu Picchu

Driver Roberto Cardenas Loayza died after two tourist trains collided head-on Tuesday on a single-track railway near the Machu Picchu citadel.Approximately 40 passengers were injured when the PeruRail and Inca Rail formations crashed near the Vilcanota River in the remote Cusco region.The Ministry of Tourism suspended all rail services following the accident as Governor Werner Salcedo criticized the management of the archaeological site.
