UN investigator Mai Sato warned that the Iranian government may be committing crimes against humanity as the death toll from nationwide protests reached at least 5,000 people.International pressure intensified as the World Economic Forum withdrew invitations to Iranian officials while the USA deployed the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln toward the region.The demonstrations, which began over the collapse of the rial, have resulted in over 26,000 arrests and the detention of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi.
