Diosdado Cabello Faces $25 Million Reward, Controls Security

#SanPedro, #Venezuela
Diosdado Cabello, named on the U.S. indictment that prompted last week’s capture of Nicolás Maduro, faces a $25 million reward and is portrayed as a hardline enforcer who commands intelligence, immigration, prisons, police and the colectivos.Cabello, 62, dismisses the charges as “a big lie,” brandishes a replica prehistoric club on his weekly programme and was filmed patrolling Caracas in a bulletproof Toyota while carrying an M4A1 rifle; U.S. sanctions list his brother José and daughter Daniella for corruption and undermining democracy. The seizures follow a U.S. operation that detained Maduro and Cilia Flores and flew them to the United States, where they were arraigned in Manhattan on federal drug and weapons charges and reported held in the Metropolitan Detention Center, while Venezuelan authorities invoked a decree of "Conmoción Exterior" ordering searches and arrests and residents report National Guard, SEBIN, DGCIM and colectivos stopping people and inspecting phones.
