NASA and Boeing have agreed on a revised plan for Starliner after problems in the first crewed mission, with the next Starliner-1 flight set to carry cargo only to the ISS to validate system safety before any further crewed launches. NASA test pilots Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams managed to dock Starliner to the ISS, but serious faults required the capsule to return empty and left the astronauts on the ISS for over nine months. Boeing continues rigorous propulsion system testing and NASA has reduced the number of planned Starliner crew flights, aiming for certification in 2026 and planning up to three crew rotation missions before the ISS is decommissioned.
