Twelve people were evacuated after a massive sinkhole opened in the Shropshire Union Canal near Whitchurch, causing the bank to collapse and drain.Emergency services declared a major incident following the breach that trapped three canal boats and flooded nearby fields with approximately one million gallons of water.
