Belarusian President
Alexander Lukashenko has pardoned 31 Ukrainian citizens imprisoned in
Belarus for criminal offenses as part of a broader agreement with
Donald Trump to help resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Lukashenko recently released two Roman Catholic priests, Henrykh Akalatovich and Andrzej Yukhnevich, who were imprisoned on politically motivated charges following diplomatic talks with the Vatican. This move also partially lifts sanctions against Belarus's national airline Belavia, allowing it to maintain and purchase parts for its fleet, including Boeing aircraft.
