Rumen Radev Resigns as Bulgaria President to Launch New Political Party

Rumen Radev announced his resignation as president of Bulgaria on Monday to potentially form a new political party following years of political instability.Vice President Iliana Yotova will take over the role and must now appoint an interim prime minister to organize the eighth legislative election since 2021.This decision comes after anti-corruption protests in late 2025 led to the collapse of the governing coalition led by the center-right GERB party.
