Karoline Leavitt becomes the first person to serve as White House press secretary while pregnant after announcing she is expecting her second child. The 28-year-old official and her husband Nicholas Riccio shared on Instagram that their daughter is due to arrive in May 2026. Leavitt credited Donald Trump and Susie Wiles for fostering a pro-family environment within the West Wing for all working parents.Leavitt previously welcomed a son in July 2024 and famously returned to work just four days later following an assassination attempt on Trump. The announcement coincides with recent personal news for the administration including the engagement of Donald Trump Jr. to Bettina Anderson.Before her historic appointment as the youngest press secretary ever, Leavitt served as a spokesperson for the 2024 campaign and ran for Congress in New Hampshire.
