Coroner Warns of Baby Death Risk After Botched Circumcision

Coroner Anton van Dellen warns that more babies could die from infected circumcisions in the UK following the death of six-month-old Mohamed Abdisamad.The infant died in February 2023 from a streptococcus infection after undergoing a non-therapeutic procedure performed by an untrained individual.Van Dellen sent a report to the Department of Health demanding urgent regulation of the practice to address a lack of accreditation and infection control.
