West Bank Division Fears Grow After Israel Opens E1 Settlement Tenders

Israel has opened government tenders for the controversial E1 settlement project in the West Bank, which critics say will divide the territory.Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich presented the plans as UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk warned of a systematic strangulation of Palestinian rights.The monitoring group Peace Now indicated that construction could begin within one month on the site previously frozen due to pressure from the USA.
