Federal prosecutors in the USA indicted and arrested Mathew Ho, Brian Curtis Raymond, Tony Li, and Harry Chen for conspiring to illegally export advanced Nvidia GPUs and Hewlett Packard Enterprise supercomputers to China and Hong Kong. The group smuggled about 50 H200 GPUs, 400 A100 GPUs, and 10 Hewlett Packard Enterprise supercomputers with H100 chips using fake contracts and falsified paperwork from late 2023 through mid-2025. They operated through a sham company called Janford Realtor LLC in Tampa, Florida, which acted as a front to resell Nvidia chips to Chinese companies, and all face charges including conspiracy, smuggling, and money laundering with up to 20 years in prison.
