Israel Responsible for Record Death Toll of 129 Global Journalists

The Committee to Protect Journalists reported that a record 129 media workers were killed during 2025, with Israel responsible for 86 of those deaths.The annual report found that Israeli military actions accounted for two-thirds of all fatalities and 81% of killings classified as intentionally targeted.While deaths were also recorded in Sudan and Ukraine, Program Director Carlos Martínez de la Serna warned that a lack of global accountability for these attacks encourages further violence.
