Syria Unveils New Banknotes Replacing Ousted Assad With Crops

Ahmed al-Sharaa unveiled redesigned banknotes featuring agricultural symbols and fewer zeros during a ceremony in Damascus on Monday.The new currency, entering circulation on 1 January, removes the images of deposed leader Bashar al-Assad and his father Hafez al-Assad following the end of their decades-long rule.
