Niels Paarup-Petersen Urges Law to Stop Teen Deportations

The Center Party, Left Party, and Green Party have introduced a parliamentary initiative to raise the age limit for residency permits from 18 to 21 to prevent the deportation of young adults.Niels Paarup-Petersen and Annika Hirvonen are urging Magdalena Andersson and the Social Democrats to support the measure, which also seeks to reintroduce assessment for compassionate circumstances.This legislative push follows a rise in family separations caused by strict 2023 migration laws enacted by the government with support from the Sweden Democrats and Social Democrats.
