EU and Mercosur Sign Trade Deal in Paraguay Following 26 Years of Talks

The EU and the Mercosur trade bloc officially signed a free trade agreement in Paraguay following twenty-six years of negotiations.Ursula von der Leyen and Santiago Peña led the event which creates a massive integrated market of seven hundred million consumers.The deal now moves to the EU for ratification while facing significant opposition from farmers concerned about agricultural competition.
