Witnesses Describe Midair Collision After Deaths of Two Pilots
Investigators are examining potential visibility failures after friends Kenneth Kirsch and Michael Greenberg died in a midair helicopter collision near Hammonton Municipal Airport on Sunday.Witnesses reported seeing the two aircraft flying close together following a joint breakfast before one spiraled to the ground in flames approximately 35 miles southeast of Philadelphia.The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are now reviewing communications between the pilots to determine why they failed to avoid the fatal impact.
