Germany pledged one billion euros to the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF) at the UN Climate Conference COP30 held in Belém.Environment Minister Carsten Schneider and Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan announced this commitment following Chancellor Friedrich Merz's earlier remarks about a significant contribution.The TFFF aims to reward countries that preserve tropical rainforests, with support from groups like Greenpeace and Germanwatch, while the fund targets over one billion hectares of forests in more than 70 countries.
