Research Begins After Discovery of Rare Iron Age War Trumpet in Norfolk

Conservation efforts are underway for a rare carnyx battle trumpet and bronze boar banner found during excavations in West Norfolk.The hoard includes five shield bosses and military standard parts, representing one of only three such trumpets ever found in the UK.Fraser Hunter and Tim Pestell believe the find, reported under the Treasure Act, will significantly reshape historical understanding of the period.
