Zohran Mamdani Sworn In as New York Mayor

Zohran Mamdani pledged to govern expansively and audaciously during his inauguration as the first Muslim and youngest mayor of New York in a century.The democratic socialist was sworn in by Bernie Sanders on two Qurans following an introduction by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after arriving at City Hall in a yellow taxi.Mamdani proposed tax increases on high earners to fund universal childcare and free transit despite criticism from Mike Lawler and past opposition from Donald Trump.
