Tasmania Police said an independent search party found Celine Cremer’s mobile phone at Philosopher Falls on Saturday, the first new physical lead more than two years after she disappeared in June 2023.Police will formally join the privately organised search and expand forensic work after the device was recovered by about 35 volunteers, and investigators say the phone’s location and data support a theory that Cremer left the main trail and used a navigation app to try a more direct route back to her car as daylight faded.Rob Parsons and other searchers described an emotional discovery, Tony Hage was credited with finding the device, Cremer’s mother Ariane thanked the volunteers, and Inspector Andrew Hanson said the phone forensics may help reconstruct Cremer’s final movements though she has not been found.
