Fire Destroys Luxury Grandes Alpes Hotel as 300 Evacuate French Resort

Firefighters in France are investigating the cause of a major fire at the luxury Hotel Les Grandes Alpes in Courchevel that forced the evacuation of nearly 300 people on Tuesday evening.Approximately 115 emergency responders battled the blaze in the attic of the five-star wooden chalet while guests from the neighboring Lana Hotel were moved to safety as a precaution.The incident, which resulted in minor injuries to several firefighters but no fatalities, follows a recent fire in Crans-Montana that claimed 40 lives on New Year's Day.
