Germany Demands Release of Alican Uludag After Arrest in Turkey

German Minister of Culture Wolfram Weimer demanded the immediate release of Deutsche Welle correspondent Alican Uludag after his arrest in Turkey.The journalist faces charges of disseminating misleading information and insulting Recep Tayyip Erdogan following a raid by 30 police officers at his home.The German government and Deutsche Welle director-general Barbara Massing condemned the move as an act of intimidation against the press.
