Donald Trump Signals New START Lapse After Venezuela Raid

#WashingtonDC, #USA
Donald Trump said he might let the New START nuclear arms treaty lapse in February after ordering an unprecedented operation that seized Nicolás Maduro and disrupted Venezuela’s oil industry. In a New York Times interview, Trump said the USA will be “running Venezuela” for “much longer” than a year, dismissed constraints by saying “I don’t need international law,” and argued his only limit is “my own morality. My own mind.”He renewed his push to acquire Greenland from Denmark, said NATO may face a “choice,” and argued Xi Jinping is unlikely to move on Taiwan during Trump’s term.
