Irene of Greece Dies at 83 in Madrid

Irene of Greece passed away at age 83 at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid following years of close companionship with her sister Sofia of Spain.The Spanish Royal House announced funeral arrangements including a service in Spain before her burial in the family cemetery in Greece.The philanthropist and former concert pianist dedicated much of her life to humanitarian work through her Mundo en Armonía foundation.
