South Korean actress and K-pop star Nana, also known by her real name Im Jin-ah, was involved in a violent home invasion incident in Guri, a suburb of Seoul. The 34-year-old singer and actress, who gained fame in 2009 with the girl group After School and further established her popularity through her subgroup Orange Caramel, was attacked along with her mother by an armed intruder. The man, in his 30s, broke into their house while armed, threatened both women, and demanded money. During the struggle, Nana was injured and her mother was knocked unconscious, requiring medical attention. Nana and her mother managed to overpower and detain the intruder until the police arrived, at which point he was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery. The intruder was also hospitalized for treatment. Nana's quick response and bravery during the incident received praise, as she and her mother successfully subdued the suspect and kept him until law enforcement could take over. Following her initial rise to fame in 2009, Nana has transitioned successfully into acting, appearing in several television series including popular crime dramas "Kill It" and "Justice" in 2019. Recently, she released her first solo music album in September, further diversifying her career. The incident highlights her resilience and continuing influence both as a singer and actress in South Korea. The event was reported on November 16, with local authorities detailing the assault and Nana’s actions to protect her family. The suspect’s motive appeared to be theft, and he is currently held on charges of aggravated robbery. Both Nana and her mother received medical care after the incident. The event has garnered widespread attention and praise for Nana's bravery.
