Search Intensifies for 10 Missing Skiers After California Avalanche

Rescue teams are searching for 10 missing skiers after a massive avalanche struck a group of 16 people near Castle Peak.Six survivors remain stranded in high-altitude terrain following the slide northwest of Lake Tahoe but have maintained contact through satellite messaging.Severe weather and a forecast of eight feet of additional snow are hindering efforts led by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.The group was returning from a three-day trip organized by Blackbird Mountain Guides when the disaster occurred on Tuesday morning.
