Mamdani Retains Antisemitism Office After Swearing in as New York Mayor

Zohran Mamdani took the oath of office at City Hall as the first Muslim mayor of New York following a private midnight ceremony in a subway station.The 34-year-old Democratic Socialist promised a new era for the city while announcing he will maintain the Mayor's Center Against Antisemitism established by Eric Adams.Mamdani simultaneously overturned several orders from his predecessor including a ban on protests near synagogues as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hailed the historic transition.
