Taylor Rehmet flipped a Texas state Senate seat for the Democratic Party following a special election victory in a district previously won by Donald Trump by 17 points.The labor union leader and veteran defeated Republican Leigh Wambsganss with 57 percent of the vote after receiving significant backing from the Democratic National Committee and VoteVets.Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin called the result a warning sign for the Republican Party across the USA as the party looks toward the upcoming midterm elections.
