Five Dead After Avalanches and Severe Snowstorms Hit Austria

A severe winter storm and multiple avalanches across the Austrian Alps resulted in at least five deaths and over 20 injuries.Three people died in St. Anton am Arlberg and a German national was killed while skiing in Nauders, while a 53-year-old man died in a snow-clearing accident in Linz.The extreme weather forced the temporary closure of Vienna Airport and caused widespread power outages for tens of thousands of households in Styria and Slovenia.
