China launched the uncrewed Shenzhou-22 spacecraft to ensure the safe return of Zhang Lu, Wu Fei, and Zhang Hongzhang, who remain aboard the Tiangong space station.Shenzhou-22 docked with Tiangong and was launched by the Long March-2F Y22 carrier rocket after a crack was found in Shenzhou-20, prompting acceleration of the mission.The China National Space Administration stated that the astronauts are in good condition and Shenzhou-22 will be used for their return in 2026, while Shenzhou-20 will be brought back for assessment.
