Authorities in Costa Rica launched a murder investigation after USA surfing pioneer Kurt Van Dyke was found dead following an armed robbery at his home in Cahuita.The Judicial Investigation Agency reported that two armed suspects entered the residence on February 14, threatening the occupants before stealing valuables and a vehicle.Investigators confirmed that the 66-year-old victim suffered from signs of asphyxiation and multiple stab wounds while a female companion escaped with minor injuries.Kurt Van Dyke, who owned the Hotel Puerto Viejo and moved from California in 1983, was a celebrated figure known for his contributions to the local surfing scene.
