Donald Trump said he will host Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado at the White House next week, after a Fox News exchange spotlighted her claim that she dedicated the prize to him and might “share” it.Trump also said elections in Venezuela were not on the agenda and argued Machado was not qualified to lead, following the USA’s capture of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores in a Delta Force raid that Venezuela says killed at least 100 people.Maduro and Flores have pleaded not guilty in New York as Trump presses an open-ended U.S. role tied to oil and anti-drug efforts, amid threats against Mexican cartels and U.S. Southern Command reporting rising civilian deaths in its counter-narcotics campaign.
