Laurent Vinatier Returns to France After Russian Prisoner Swap

French researcher Laurent Vinatier, an advisor for the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, returned to Paris on Thursday following a surprise prisoner exchange with Russia.Vinatier was swapped for Russian basketball player Daniil Kasatkin, who had been held in French custody on a USA arrest warrant for alleged hacking.The scholar had been serving a three-year sentence in a penal colony for failing to register as a foreign agent before being pardoned by Vladimir Putin.
