Kimura Buys Record Tuna for $3.2 Million

Customers are enjoying discounted sushi after Kiyoshi Kimura paid a record 510.3 million yen for a giant bluefin tuna in Tokyo.The 243-kilogram specimen was purchased by the Kiyomura Company president during the first auction of 2026 at Toyosu Market.Kimura intended the purchase to energize the public by serving the premium fish for approximately 500 yen per roll at Sushi Zanmai restaurants.
