Powerful explosions and gunfire rocked Kabul after Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed to have killed 72 Afghan Taliban fighters.This follows a Taliban offensive against Pakistani border installations in retaliation for weekend airstrikes that killed at least 13 people.Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s spokesperson Mosharraf Zaidi reported over 120 Afghans were injured and 16 military posts were destroyed.The escalation represents the most severe violence between the two nations since a failed ceasefire mediated by the United Nations last year.
