Nathan Lee Gill was sentenced to ten and a half years in prison at London's Central Criminal Court for accepting tens of thousands of pounds in bribes from Russia to promote pro-Russian views in the European Parliament.Gill pleaded guilty earlier in 2025 to eight counts of bribery involving payments called "Christmas gifts" from Oleg Voloshyn, a former pro-Russian Ukrainian MP with Kremlin ties.The case exposed a Kremlin influence network within European politics and prompted condemnation from UK political leaders including Nigel Farage, Dan Jarvis, and Ed Davey.
