Abraham Quintanilla, the father and longtime manager of Selena Quintanilla, has died at age 86, his son A.B. Quintanilla III announced on Instagram and the family did not disclose a cause.He founded and managed Los Dinos, guided Selena from childhood to global stardom with the multiplatinum album "Amor Prohibido", ran Q-Productions and the Selena Foundation, and served as executive producer on the film "Selena", Netflix's "Selena: The Series" and the documentary "Selena y Los Dinos".Born in Corpus Christi in 1939, Quintanilla left school to perform, later worked at Dow Chemical and is survived by his wife Marcella Samora and children A.B. Quintanilla III, Suzette Quintanilla and Selena Quintanilla; the family continues to oversee Selena's estate and public image.
