The International Federation of Journalists and the National Union of Journalists filed a legal complaint in Paris against Israeli authorities, accusing them of systematic obstruction of press freedom in the Palestinian territories, especially Gaza, since the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel. The complaint, submitted to France's national anti-terrorist prosecutor's office (Pnat), claims that military and police forces, customs and administrative units, private individuals, and settlers have violently obstructed French and other foreign journalists from covering the war in Gaza.IFJ Secretary-General
Anthony Bellanger said the legal action is the latest attempt to pressure Israel to open Gaza to international journalists in order to ensure freedom of information and journalist safety.
