FDA Upgrades Oregon Potato Company Blueberry Recall Over Listeria
The FDA has upgraded a recall of approximately 56,000 pounds of frozen blueberries from the Oregon Potato Company to a Class I designation due to potential Listeria contamination. The affected fruit was distributed in Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, and Canada in large cases and totes intended for business use rather than direct retail sale.Health officials warn that the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can cause life-threatening infections in vulnerable groups, including individuals over 65, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems.
