Donald Trump and Abbas Araghchi expressed optimism after indirect talks between the USA and Iran in Oman, with a second round of negotiations scheduled to take place early next week.While the USA seeks a complete end to Iranian nuclear capabilities and has recently imposed new sanctions on 14 oil vessels, Abbas Araghchi maintains that uranium enrichment is a right and the ballistic missile program remains non-negotiable.These discussions represent the first formal contact between the two nations since the 12-day war in June and occur while Donald Trump maintains a major naval presence in the Gulf region.
