Sony will acquire the Peanuts franchise for about $460 million after agreeing to buy WildBrain’s 41 percent stake, giving Sony an 80 percent ownership share and leaving the Schulz family with 20 percent.The deal, which consolidates Sony’s earlier 39 percent holding from 2018, remains subject to regulatory approvals while WildBrain will continue as licensing agent in key territories and as the exclusive producer of new Peanuts content under extended arrangements with Apple TV.
