The Trump administration has ordered a sharp expansion of denaturalization efforts, asking USCIS field offices to refer 100 to 200 cases per month to the Department of Justice for fiscal 2026 after earlier reports said the agency would increase citizenship revocations.USCIS and DHS may use immigrants' DNA in investigations, civil-rights groups warned that a sweeping denaturalization push could create fear among millions of naturalized citizens, and agency spokesperson Matthew Tragesser said the goal is "to combat immigration fraud."
