Breezy Johnson won the gold medal in the women’s downhill at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics as Lindsey Vonn suffered a severe crash.Lindsey Vonn was evacuated by helicopter following a collision with a gate that caused a significant knee injury only nine days after she had ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament.The victory by Breezy Johnson represents the first individual Alpine skiing medal for a woman from the USA other than Mikaela Shiffrin or Lindsey Vonn in over a decade.
