Hundreds Strike in Venezuela as Delcy Rodríguez Limits Amnesty

More than 200 political prisoners including Nahuel Agustín Gallo began a hunger strike at El Rodeo I prison following the approval of an amnesty law by Delcy Rodríguez.The legislation has facilitated the release of 464 detainees since the January capture of Nicolás Maduro by USA forces during a military operation in Caracas.Human rights groups such as Foro Penal argue the law is insufficient because it excludes military personnel and individuals facing controversial terrorism charges.National Assembly leader Jorge Rodríguez announced that a special commission is now reviewing additional pardons as families continue protesting for the remaining 600 captives.
