Brooke Day Dies After Backpack Entangles in Japan Ski Lift Accident

Australian citizen Brooke Day died after her backpack became entangled in a chairlift at the Tsugaike Mountain Resort in Japan on Friday.The 22-year-old woman, who was on a working holiday as a receptionist, was dragged along the snow and suffered a cardiac arrest when the equipment failed to detach.Tsuneo Kubo, the CEO of the lift company, issued an apology and suspended operations while the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides support to the family.
