The 2026 Winter Olympics officially opened with simultaneous ceremonies across Milan and three other Italian locations, featuring a tribute to the late designer Giorgio Armani.Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli performed at the San Siro stadium while USA flagbearer Erin Jackson led a record delegation of 232 athletes into the arena.JD Vance and Princess Anne attended the event as the Olympic flame was lit in both Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo to mark the start of the 116 medal events.
