Narges Mohammadi Receives 7-Year Term After Hunger Strike

Narges Mohammadi received an additional seven and a half years in prison after a Revolutionary Court in Mashhad convicted the Nobel Peace Prize laureate of collusion and propaganda.The 53-year-old activist recently ended a week-long hunger strike launched to protest a communication ban while the USA continues nuclear negotiations with President Masoud Pezeshkian.This new sentence includes two years of internal exile and follows a 2026 arrest where Narges Mohammadi was detained during a memorial for human rights advocate Khosrow Alikordi.
