EU Condemns Russia for Alexei Navalny's Inhumane Treatment
The EU condemned Russia for the inhuman treatment and illegal detention of Alexei Navalny following a ruling issued two years after the opposition leader's death.Judges ordered Moscow to pay €26,000 to Yulia Navalnaya after finding that her husband was subjected to sleep deprivation and constant surveillance without medical care.Russia has refused to acknowledge the verdict or pay the fine as the Kremlin no longer considers international court decisions binding following its 2022 exit from the Council of Europe.
